Since getting back from Greece, we've been really busy. I will finish the last 2 Greece posts soon, but here is the first of our home remodel posts. The Master Bathroom is the first room that I've gotten completely cleaned up and ready for "After" pictures, so it's the first post... many more to come.
Before this project, the master bathroom was the only room in the house that we had already done some work. Here are some pictures of before we did any work in the master bathroom

There was mildew behind the tiles. The caulking had been black, so we thought we were just going to replace the caulking and discovered a much bigger problem. |
|
I also wasn't particularly fond of the discolored laminate around the toilet. |
2012 Before Pictures (What the bathroom looked like before we started this year's project) You can't tell in any of these pictures, but the wall paper was actually pealing and torn in several places too:
The painters started in the master bathroom on day 2 of work by removing the wall paper:
On day 3, they textured the walls:
On day 4 they painted the cabinets, but they painted them the wrong color (they used the color for the kitchen cabinets) and they taped the door shut, so I don't have any pictures of the wrong color.
Day 5, cabinets repainted the correct color:
Day 6, they started painting the walls
|
The painters were a little confused. |
They made the needed corrections and finished painting on day 7. Here are the After Pictures:
|
Note that the wall is now, correctly, white above the molding... it's supposed to feel like the ceiling there because the ceiling is slanted. |
|
We added hardware to the cabinets! |
For the full effect, here are some side by side shots:

The more dramatic beginning and end. |
Loving the complete look... may do a little something with accessories, but very happy with the finished product!
